Scooter Magazines ??
« on: December 09, 2013, 04:29:45 PM »
Does anyone know of a source for scooter magazines?
Since I'm late to the scooter party - seems like by this year they all have gone belly up.
Used or new?
(pref. English lang. mags......small words best)
Thx Stig

As in "published magazines"?   ???

I remember there was something out of the Seattle area for a bit.  Something from out West geared more for the desert...but the names escape me right now.

Vivo, you could sell those back issue magazines over here in the States for a fortune on the Scooter black market! ;-)

I'm not sure, but I think all of the scooter mags in the U.S. have gone out of business.  I still get "Twist and Go" from the U.K.    http://www.twistngo.com/  which is mostly automatic scooters and small displacement motorcycles.  They even test the Chinese brands that are available in Great Britain.

An entertaining magazine, but they only feature scoots available in Britain (lots more than the US) and the subscription is........expensive!

Minnesota Motorcycle Monthly (google it) has their fair share of scooter features and news.  Very small newspaper-style and cheap subscription!

"SCOOT" was in print until a year or two ago.   It became too expensive to print so they offered an internet set-up with subscription cost based on scooter size.  Included was a T-shirt, key chain, website,  etc.  A monthly digital issue was included, but never seemed to appear.  "Scootering" from the UK is about $10 an issue.   Barnes & Noble carries it,  but so far, they only get one or two copies at the three or four stores I checked.

Vivo, please text before over-nighting my plane ticket to the Philippines ----to da_n cold to stand out by the mail box for no reason.
(awoke this AM with high hopes - maybe the snow would melt - shoot~!.... 3 more inches! AND coldern' the Blue Fairies tonight. {you don't want to know Vivo - would give you nightmares as a scooterista - but it rhymes with "9", actual. "Feels like -3 F".)

Hey Vivo,
That's a great and kind offer --  but it has to be quid pro quo.....
My son works at Taco Bell.....so, pick anything you want up to $10 from the drive-thru menu.
(you can re-heat in a micro-wave oven and the flavor suffers only minimally!)
Or, I have a fist full of Tim Horton donut coupons?
Seriously, you got family - Xmas is coming. You can't keep giving everyone a coconut with your likeness painted on it every year. You're gonna have to spend some dineros.
Maybe this winter we can work a trade for something you want from Ohio. Corn, or a new milk cow, or....wait - I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who sells TV's & video games out of his Subaru.
You be thinking of something you might want, OK?
Thanks, Stig
(4 degrees they say tonight - frozen snow melt on the roads which I can't see before sunrise - so the LIKE stays parked. Read that 'cold weather' note from the guy who has his scooter in the kitchen? He can't be married.)

Bumpstart Magazine!   That was the name of it, but I don't know if it's still being published or not.  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bumpstart-Magazine/139573232782185  I'm sure if you contacted the editor they would send you some past copies.
