LIKE winter projects ?
« on: December 15, 2013, 07:21:15 PM »
Do you have any projects planned for your LIKE while it is laid up for the winter?
I am looking for another donor seat to rebuild.....though I hope to be off my scoot very few days this winter.
I also have a pair of shocks that I may fit, and a box of Dr Pulleys.
The seat rebuild went like this :

Stock seat - pretty but not comfy.

The stock foam:

The seat pan:

The rebuilt seat - no longer can feel the seat pan issues:

Quite a bit of foam added. See how much 'seat' is added above the rear chrome hand holds.
Hard to see, but the rebuilt seat has a couple inches of width added by squaring the shoulders of the foam and adding a firmer foam there. This gives me a much more stable feel, side-to-side, while riding. This can be felt in the backs of your thighs when feet are down at stops - but feels great when you pick your feet up & scoot is on the move.

Laid up for the winter?  What is that?     lol       Oh yeah, that is for those of you that actually get a winter!  I will be riding all through the winter, as long as the roads are dry.

In Waco right now.  Though I am in Bryan a lot and sometimes around the D/FW area and San Antonio too.  I only ride my Like between Waco and Bryan though.

Cool!  If you ever see someone riding a scooter with saddle bags, a rear storage box, a windshield, LED driving lights, and wearing full gear with a yellow reflective vest then that's me.  I'm on the north side of town mostly, but when the weather is nice I'm all over town!  My Like is turning over 3,000 miles today and I picked it up in March so that gives you an idea of how much I ride it.

He asked where you live.
Are you with a travelling rodeo? The circus? A Wanted Man?
Polygamist?
Why do you live in so many places?!

I have family in all of those cities and so I go between them all quit often.  It does look like I will be settling in the Waco area though.

Well good! Im glad you will be settling in Waco. We always need more scoots here. Especially outside the Baylor campus. For the most part you will be able to ride year round. I only use my car for below freezing an icy days or raining days. I dont mind getting caught in the rain just not real big on setting out in the rain.
Be careful where you park because we are the last thing they expect to see in parking lots.
I park on the side walks up next to the stores. At least my scoot want get hit by a car are a pickup that you need a step ladder to get into.
Good luck an hope to see you around!
