Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!  I will submit a photo when I'm able to pick up my new scooter.  The dealership had no 2014's in stock yet, so I got the last 2013.  Stig, my first choice of colors was the blue/white, so I'm envious of yours.  I took my second choice, which is red.  I guess the upside to that is good visibility, so they can see me coming!  ;D  I have signed up for the safety course, but won't be able to get in until beginning of April.  It's going to feel like a long wait, but it will be sooo worth it!  Thanks again, I'll be posting again soon!

Regards,
Debbie

Good scooter choice. I bought mine late October. Even though i can't ride as often as I'd like, due to weather, I've almost done 2000 miles. You can do most regular service on it easily. I've changed my oil maybe four times now and I would recommend finding a drain pan that will clear everything under your scoot before starting. Ha ha. I made a bit of a mess. I really think this scooter was the best option for a city and suburb scoot. For the price nobody could compete with kymco. Many 125's are more expensive and are carburated. If I remember right Honda's Ruckus is comparable in price and you get so much less. As long as I'm not on the highway it gets the same fuel economy that my Buddy 50 did.    Breaking in was a bit of a chore but just take your time and follow the owner's manual. The oil they say to use was an odd one and nobody carries it here. I think it says to use 15w-40. Just use 10w-40 and use synthetic after break in. Also use motorcycle oil not car oil. Always use premium gas and I'm lucky but many dont have the choice to use ethanol free gas.

Hello Debbie,
Red was my choice - it just really is a great color for this scoot! Bam! Here's come a red scooter........!
I'd never seen one with the chrome crash bars - but I think they'd look great on a red LIKE--- then I saw the LX sitting over by the helmets.
I stood looking at it - and went back to tell the salesman to tear up the red paper-work and start again on the blue/white LX (which he never showed me during my 5 visits to look at the LIKE. And I asked about color options: "We got black and red.") He was a little peeved - and tried to dissuade me by yelping, "You know, that's $100 more!" I just looked at him and said I'll be picking out my free helmet whenever he gets done writing up the LX purchase.
Ride safe....good job on  sched. yourself into the safety course!
Stig
Some day it will look like this again around here!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Hi Debbie, Welcome to the group and to Likedom. What color did you go for?  :)

Hi Big Blue!  Sorry I neglected to include your name in my last post.  Yours is a beautiful scooter!  I'll just have to resign myself to the fact I wasn't able to get the white/blue, and enjoy the red.  Right now I'm trying to come up with a name for her.  Anyone have any ideas??
