After watching this video put out by Amsoil.....well, he points out that their scooter-specific oil is made for scooters with the engine, transmisson and clutch lubricated by a common sump. And that this scooter oil costs less than their motorcycle oil because scooters do not need that extra protection.
So, this oil is for wet clutches, and offers less protection than some of their other oils.
Especially the latter remark does not sell me on this oil for my LIKE200i~!
I am obtaining this oil through the mail, and laying out there on the concrete very frequently to put it in my scooter --- and he is telling me that there are oils that offer better protection than what I'm using. Also this oil is good for infrequently ridden scooters....which does not describe my scooter!
Cyclepedia does state to use fully synthetic oil in my LIKE - and my dealer tech says to use Amsoil - but what brand do Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki use in their scooters (not bikes - but their scooters) Anyone know what they use?
