Ride Maps

I've been publishing maps of my rides like the one below to facebook but they are tedious to make and add the photo icons. I found an app that will auto draw the line based on GPS info from my smart phone. Stay tuned because inthe next couple days, I'll post a map it makes. I think this is pretty cool. The app is Endomondo and is meant for workouts but hey, it does what I want. I'll just tell it I'm on a cycling workout.

Here's the latest automatically generated map from my iPhone app Endomondo. I can link you to the actual map page on the website but not sure how much I like anyone being able to zoom in/out to see EXACTLY where I am. I suppose if you really want to look me up you could do a little research but then you'd have to stop by and we'd go for a ride. A nice little addition is that each mile is marked by number. I can also go in and see a bar chart of my speed by time or distance. With the map right beside it I can see just hoe fast I was going anywhere along the path. The only thing is that it IS an exercise app so it told me I burned over 1700 calories during this "Workout". NOT! This will certainly get me by though until I have time to see if there's some sort of app out there that will do exactly as I want. Until then, this is a big step forward. Oh yeah, this is the FREE version of the app too and they have it for many OS's.

Did you feel nervous at all when you were cruising on I-55 at 56 mph and cars and trucks were blowing by you?

Calothrix,
I would never attempt going on the interstate. Historic US66 parallels I-55 at that point. I crossed over I-55 (mile 7-8) then paralleled it until the next exit and crossed over (mile 16-17) again. I thought some people might think that.
