Rain Riding ?
« on: April 07, 2014, 03:29:32 PM »
Got in 90 min ride this AM before the rain tried to dampen things.
Here's a rain tip - after waxing the face shield with Rain Coat, turn your head every now and then while riding in a big rain - the wind blows a lot more rain away than when just looking forward.
Funny, how little response I get to rain riding questions - AM I the only one who rides in the rain on purpose?

Here comes the rain.

Sunny yesterday.
Safe riding, folks

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Stig, I ride in the rain 6-7 months in one year... 20-25 storms/typhoons in one year... My rain gear never leaves my scoot... Not only rain, a lot of times I have to deal with floods...

Here's my gear:  Rain suit (jacket and pants), Water shoes or boat shoes, no gloves,  open face motocross/hybrid helmet...

Hey Stig, I went for a ride tonight and got caught in some rain (not on purpose).  I'll try your "head turning" trick sometime, maybe tomorrow.   :)

Thanks the good ole midwest weather, I've gotten to ride it all 4 seasons in the past 6 weeks. Including 1 day with snow falling.

I'm riding with a big windscreen.
It protects me a lot against the rain and the cold wind in the morning.
The only parts that get wet are my knees and my arms. Caused by the wind that " comes around" the screens and fairing.
That's why most of the time I put on my rain paints.
