How do I drain the 2-stroke & fuel tank?
« on: September 19, 2009, 12:37:44 AM »
Hi on my 2007 ZX50 its been sitting around for months and I want to drain the
2-stroke oil and put fresh fuel in it. What is the best way to do both?
Is there a drain valve somewhere or do I have to use the old fashion siphon?

Any help would be great.                                                Thanks.

The oil tank has an inline filter on the outlet where the hose connects to the bottle.  You could undo the hose at the bottle, there is just a hose clamp.  Otherwise I think you can just unhook the line from the oil pump and pull of the cap on the tank and it should mostly drain.  The easiest way to drain the fuel is probably to unhook both the vacuum line and the fuel line from the manifold and the carb.  Put the fuel line in a container and suck on the vacuum line.  This will "pump" the fuel from the tank and into your container.
