Valve adjustment Video

Always like to get different looks at a 4 stroke scooter valve adjustment.
Germans take good clear videos.
I don't know how often your scooter really needs the valves checked, but on my Kymco LIKE200i the valves are very easy to get to , and it is kinda relaxing and fun to do so I'm in there with my feeler gauge pretty often.
It is helpful to watch a few of these procedures on youtube. Gives you confidence to do your own - and save a lot of $$ in dealer labor fees....and you don't have to drop your scooter off and come back for it the next day. You get up in the morning all fresh with a cold scooter engine and set to it with a cup of coffee and a couple of simple hand tools. Lots of folks here will talk you through the procedure with your particular scooter.

 I read that Kymco allows you to do your own maintenance without affecting the warranty. Would a valve adjustment fit into this category?  I can do it and have the tools. I am at the 600+ mile mark and am not sure if they would poo on me down the road.

Ah, that is a good question. I am not sure where you read that it is OK for us to do our own servicing -because I do not know that this is a fact, or rumor, or maybe it is partially correct.
I do not know where Kymco, or your dealer would draw the line on self-servicing.
If you keep receipts and document your oil changes & air filter changes - that might fly with no issues - but you better not blow up your engine in any case.
The valve  adjustments and transmisson work (belt, clutch, rollers, etc) might be a whole 'nother matter.
My advice would be to check with and follow your dealer's requirements. Or email the KYMCO info guy.
Or do the work yourself - save a lot of $$  and have fun bonding with your new scoot but, and.... this is important! .... don't screw it up!! (or I will deny we ever had this conversation!)

Personally, I am an easy rider on my scoot; service it myself and too often; and keep receipts and document my work. I enjoy putzing around in my scoot almost as much as being on it.
If you're going to be riding 9/10ths or 10/10ths everywhere you ride (like some guys here) - I would suggest you let the dealer perform all the servicing as scheduled in the manual for the 2 yrs of your engine warranty.
