Does the club have very clear guidelines about the rides? You need to have a clear structure about who is in charge, who is the tail rider, what needs to happen when breakdowns occur, who buddies up with whom in case of problems, hand signals, what the routes will be, where you will stop for breaks or gas, etc. Also, each rider needs to understand very clearly that their scooter should be in very good upkeep and fully inspected before leaving. Granted, problems occur, but good preventative maintenance will keep them to a minimum. Maybe make up a pre-ride check sheet for everyone so there's no doubt about what is expected. I know this sounds a little hard nosed, but everyone will have more fun if there are fewer problems and interruptions, and everyone is on the same page before taking off. Many adults still act the same as they did back in high school when they get into a group (they just never grow up), so you have to find a way to respectfully set the boundaries for them in a way that isn't insulting or condescending. Just my two cents worth. (And, yes, I'm a teacher...)

Love the post on structuring the club.

It should also be set up to have a van or pick up truck on call w/ some basic tools. Perhaps a volunteer to stay w/ the broke down party before the ride. That way the one jack off that ALWAYS breaks down will learn the whole crew is NOT going to stop, and help figure how to get him/her home.

Of course it helps to throw 40 bucks (gas money/bribe) to the cage driver whether they are called out or not

We mostly have a scoot at the end that lets the ones in the front that all is ok and we are all here. But latly the one that turns out being last or the last few and slower scoots are the ones left behind.it mostly happens at the end of the ride on are way back to town.but when ride is done we meet for a few cold ones then go home. I think its time for a good scoot meeting.

It's an easy fix Blue... The first 5 bikes at the bar buy the beer.

See what I did there?? ?>>

Sounds like you need to have that meeting and pick a few riders to be the core group.  Then make some rules for the rides.  Main one to keep everyone together. . . some rides are 50cc, some are 45-55mph cruising, some are highway rides.  You can ride with any group ride you want to if your scoot can walk the walk.  If a 50cc (that isn't a 2-stroke) shows up for a 45-55mph ride, send them home.  If a 150cc or even some of the pretend 200cc bikes that are really 160-170cc shows up for a highway ride, tell them to go get a drink, then leave them at the bar.

Plus what others have said about designated break down buddies or available van pickup drivers.

We've got a nice group that goes on several rides each week.  Different people in charge, different speed scoots, it all works well.

I know what gave Blue the Blues...

Everybody has to stop to pick up the pieces of his bile every 100 yards or so. By the time they get to the bar Blues looks like he's been in a Duct tape fight.

I saw the Picts.
