Memorial Day Parade Route

Did you ever notice where our 3 buddies are looking?

I like to think the fellow there in the center is a fellow medic....since he's wearing a 45....but he might be an "LT", too. Too young to be much higher in rank than an Lt.
Though, not all medics wore a side-arm......some were "C O's" like me.(conscientiuos objector. Served in combat as medics - but did not carry a weapon. They were in WWII & WWI, as well.) I was not so much a pacifist - I just really wanted to be a medic. If you know the Army, you know that you must force their hand before you enter the service. So, I applied for, and was granted (there's a whole, funny story behind that)  a 1A-0 draft status change before I was inducted. Pretty much all the Army can do with a CO, is make him a medic....in the 1960's you're then off to sunny S.E. Asia for the Games.{CO medics took 6 weeks basic training, rather than 8, and then received medic training - all at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX}

Small town, but we have one of the biggest Memorial Day parades in the state.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
