GPS charging question.
« on: June 13, 2014, 04:14:55 PM »
I know the GT has a charging plug under the seat so I am wondering, if I'm running a GPS mounted behind the wind screen so I can see it, how do I plug it in so the battery doesn't run out of charge? I would like to plug it in to the outlet under the seat but I have no idea how to do that. Anyone one doing this with the GT? Details and pics would be fantastic.

 Ride safe everyone, mscmkr

I added an auxillary DC receptacle on the access panel on the left leg shield. It is easy to roue the wires down to the battery. It is fused at 10A for circuit protection. This makes it easy to plug in the GPS using the cigarette type connection for charging. This will also handle a tire compressor if you find the need for one. You can get these receptacles at any auto parts store, Wal Mart or Radio Shack. I would attach a picture of this installation, but I do not have one. I hope this helps you. :)
