LIKE Pix in Florida
« on: June 28, 2014, 12:53:03 AM »
Spotted 2 LIKEs in Florida over the past 2 weeks:
In St Petersburg a red 50cc with 6500 miles on it in pretty clean condition. Plastic panels looked good and the chrome was in good, rust-free condition. (I could not locate the owner & let him know he apparently left his ignition key in the seat lock)

Later, up the coast, my son spotted a blue & white LIKE200i LX in a parking garage below a large market.
(It was parked with a Burgman and a nice Buddy 50cc -three of the nicest, cleanest, rust-free scooters which I saw on the entire trip - Maybe that covered parking had something to do with that.)
This LIKE200i had 1700+ miles on it and though the panels were in pretty good condition - one chrome mirror stalk was pretty rusty. Interestingly, I spotted & photo'd this same scoot twice more during our vacation....but never had the chance to speak with the rider - judging by the apron he was wearing, he worked at the market above his parked scoot.

Waxing the metal parts, covering the mostly plastic scooter and rinsing the whole scoot frequently seem to be the best methods of prolonging your Kymco's appearance in coastal Florida.

( I did speak with a few riders of the Chinese scooters....all of them stated they traveled quite a ways to get their scooter serviced - and did not use the scooter shop in the neighborhood.)
It was neat to spot some LIKEs on our trip - just wish I could have spoken to the owners.
And though I think I may have spotted some other Kymcos going by (Peoples ?)....these 2 LIKEs were the only Kymcos I was able to stand next to.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
