What's the best mod

Just bought a 2000 people 50 2stoke.....she runs about 47 according to the speedo flat out which is impressive to me stock.....coming off a honda ruckus.  If you had to pick one or two, What would be your first mods to get above 50 mph without spending too much $$?
Dr pulley sliders?
Molasses variator?
Bigger carb?
Cdi?
Pipe?

Best mod, open up the chest, find the cdi on the right side. You will see a single green wire with a bullet connector plugged together, unplug this. Ta da, now you should be able to get the Speedo past 50. This wire is the cdi rev limit. Second best mod, get a 70cc kit on there!

Thx betnlost.  I will open it up tonight in search of the green wire.
If I go up with a larger cylinder head, will I need to upgrade the carb and pipe or will the stock work?  If stock works, will I need to rejett and if so, what size jets and where do I get them.

If you can get it going 50 stock I would just leave it be.less wear and tear on the motor.

Hi blue.....it won't run 50, but getting to that speed is the goal.  I opened up the front of the to locate the CDI. There was a green wire but no bullet connector it was tied into the wiring harness. I read some other threads that suggEstes snipping the green wire. After that the scoot would not start or run until the green wire was reconnected.

any other suggestions?

What color was the cdi? One way to check if your bike is limited is rev it up on the center stand and if it revs out your good, if it goes brap brap brap your limited. If the cdi was brown you should have that wire, it's coming out of the base of the cdi away from the other wires. The people 50 can bury the Speedo stock if its running good. You can upgrade the cylinder to 70cc with editing else stock, the early p50 have a 17mm carb stock but you would get more power by going with a 19mm carb and cylinder kit. How you build your bike highly depends on if you are looking for torque or speed. For top speed you will need to do A LOT more. If you're happy with a solid 50 but with loads of torque, I.e. Flying uphill, then di just a kit and call it good. Won't even hardly need to change your jetting.

Black cdi ....this is an image of the top of it if that helps.......I'm good with the torque as I live on the coast and there are no hills except for the occasional Bridge. But I don't want to compromise the torque for the top speed

Yeah that cdi is already no rev limited. Connect that green wire back up.
