Brand new agility 125 won't start
« on: June 30, 2014, 05:16:53 AM »
I just bought a new agility 125 yesterday and hit my 200 mile mark today. i did the oil and gear change as the manual said and now it won't start. when i first got it, it was acting funny as well. i would start it and then it would sputter and hesitate as if if was going to cut off, but when i throttled it, it rode fine. it did cut off at the stop light one time as well, but started back up and rode good. but now after I've changed the engine oil and gear oil it won't start. after i changed it, i idled it for 3 minutes like the sticker said on the engine, and it idled like it normally does. then i cut it off to run in my dorm, came back out and now it won't start at all. please help i just bought this thing. its under dealer warranty, but before i contact them i would like to resort here. i know there probably gonna think i done something wrong so please help. i used motorcycle 10w40 full syntactic oil and auto zone saw 80-90, so those can't be the problem.

Did you change your spark plug to? Maybe the bike is flooded try starting with the throttle pulled all the way

My Super 8 did that, and I found the auto choke had come unplugged and wasn't shutting off. And check for any loose vacuum lines.
I agree with Bettin though, I sounds like it may be flooded out.
Also, when my scoot was idling rough, I adjusted the idle screw up just a touch, and it smoothed out better.

And on your oil, I wouldn't use synthetic until after the break in period so that all the seals and engine parts can wear in and seat properly. I was advised to switch to synth after 1000 to 1500 miles.

Congrats on your new bike. I have had mine for over 18 months and they are great bikes. 8)

If it is a new scooter, then you should have a warranty.  Hopefully your dealer is nearby.
It is ok to try simple repairs, but use the warranty if there is a real problem.
