Here's were it gets hairy. If i had a legal pistol and was in a stand my ground state wouldnt i be in my right to shoot him for attempted vehicular homicide?  Im no threat to him but a gun might make me one. its all dicey and despite yohr warnings the old man was a wreckless danger that could have easily killed me. Who cares if he was packing too. I am not afraid of being shot i am afraid of being ran over. I guess i am a minority here but i f@ck him for trying to kill me by being a lazy f@ck who couldnt be bothered tp follow the law or look at what he was doing. I know in this forum my rage is not supported. Thats my 2 cents.

A would doubt that a jury in a stand your ground case would find not guilty in that senario. I also doubt it would be tried as one. Stand your ground is not as easy to prove as some may think. There is a woman here that was being beaten that fired a warning shot and could not prove stand your ground. She's in the can.

That right to carry also has a huge responsibility. Hand guns have the sole purpose to kill. If you reach for it you must know at that moment you will draw, fire and kill another. Any hesitation and you're dead.

Bad decision and you kill another. There are those in jail for making that choice. Others are six feet under. 99.9% of the time the proper choice is not to draw. Getting cut off does not give one the right to shoot.

Your "I'm not afraid" qoute makes me chuckle. I'm not either. I've just lived long enough to know how to survive. I was an inner city kid and saw gun play very very early in life. Your young and full of piss and vinegar, I was too.

Just don't make any snap decisions that will screw up the rest of your life.
Too much to enjoy to throw away in a second.

Just my .02

This escalation of anger is too crazy!!!!  Probably most members here have been in a similar situation at least once of not numerous times.  These are not examples of stand your ground. These are people who probably shouldn't be driving any more.  If you could somehow prove that he hated motorcycle riders and was intentionally seeking you out to run you down......a definite maybe.  I am assuming that you don't think that. If we could eliminate these drivers every time they "disobeyed the traffic law" we could make the roads safer and solve the social security problem.  We can't.  I wonder if you would be as angry if you were in a vehicle vs. being on a bike?  Keep venting and try to let this one go....You know it's going to happen again.

Sweet im not the only one. I've had fantasies of being nearly hit and police seeing it and instantly pulling the person over but that never happens.

I've actually had people run stop signs and almost hit me with a cop right there and they don't do anything where I live.

I just drove 1200 miles from Fl to NJ in my SUV and I got cut off and nearly wrecked just as many times as I would have on my bike.

Most aren't hunting bikers they are just distracted and in a rush. No regard for the other guy.
Just an aside. The farther north I go the worse the drivers get.

You're right, it is bad up here in the North.  However, I have to say, when I drove truck, the worst drivers I ever saw were on the interstate in North Carolina.  These idiots wouldn't even let an ambulance with it's lights and siren on merge onto the interstate.

As the song says.."Know when to fold'm"  I fold!  Next time run him down and try to get a shot in before the vehicle goes up in flames!  As for the cop on the corner, I am sure he was eating a donut while on the phone with someone's wife along with figuring out how much of your tax money he's wasting.  Of course as a Sergeant, I only at bagels.    Still glad your okay ;)
