Need help with scooter
« on: August 18, 2014, 10:59:32 AM »
First, im sorry that title isn't as clear as it should be, but i have no idea what could be wrong with it.

Uploaded a video showing whats happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFz6WPUn1a4&feature=youtu.be

It was running for an hour before making this video, because when its cold it dies instantly i touch gas thingie (throttle? no idea how its called) and when its warm enough after some little Brum-brums it starts to spin the wheel for few seconds then dies again.

I'm sorry, i dont really know how to explain it, so i made a video.

If you have any ideas what is wrong please tell me, i can google it out if you're no in the mood to write long posts, just give me part names or something that could help.

Thanks!

Check engine oil dipstick level.  Try adding around 2 ounces of Techron to gas tank before refilling to aid in clearing carb fuel passageways.  Check valve clearance.

I restarted on two wheels with an Agility 50. Was the "coldest-blooded" machine I ever met! How long have you had this and how much have you ridden this machine? What was done to it, if anything , before it started acting like this? 'Nother way of saying we need more info.

My first guess would be a carb issue, possibly a blocked main jet. If it idles, the idle jet is OK, but if it won't run when the throttle is opened it could be the main jet that's blocked.

Most likely it's a carburetor air leak.  This is a very common problem.  Replace both O-rings in intake manifold (about 10 cents each).  If possible, use Viton O-rings (about 50 cents each)  - they don't squash flat from the heat.
