Newbie Q: Is a 2007 Venox a 9-volt system?
« on: August 22, 2014, 11:52:47 PM »
THIS WAS ERRONEOUSLY POSTED IN "GENERAL DISCUSSION"... I'VE REPOSTED IT HERE.

Hi... Getting ready to buy a Venox and the owner tells me it's a 9v battery, and that he blew something out once on the bike while jump starting from a running car... BUT he says he can jump it from a car if the engine's not running.  This doesn't sound at all right to me, but I'm thinking "perhaps they do things differently in Taiwan!"

Thoughts?  Thanks.

It's a 12v system- and jumping it off from a running vehicle (alternator puts out almost 14v) can damage electronics on the venox or scooter-they don't have the same type of charging system and to put it simply- something's likely to burn up.

Jumping with just the 12v car battery (car not running) is fine-its just a larger capacity (not voltage) battery than what your mc or scooter has.
