I have a mounting plate kind of like GVH's, except it was made and marketed by a dealer back in the mid 2000s. I bolted onto the flat mounting plate a Givi mount that I could snap a Givi case to. I used one of the Givi saddlebags from my motorcycle which snaps onto the Givi mount. The useless small decorative rack on the back of the Super 9 stays put under the mounting plate.
Words of caution.....1. Any amount of weight in the trunk can cause some instability and wobble in the normally rock solid Super 9's handling. Seeing as my scoot doesn't go much faster than 45-50 mph, this is not really a problem as long as both hands are kept on the handlebars. I do not leave the trunk on the scoot all of the time...only when I need it!
2. If you look at the picture of the plate that GVH posted on the blue scoot, you can see that it is held on only by 3 mounting points at the front of the plate. Same as mine. So you need to really limit the weight that you put into the trunk with this setup. In other words....Beer and Canned goods under the seat....newspaper, cigars, and potato chips in the trunk!
