Alternator Output
« on: March 12, 2015, 11:30:18 AM »
The battery in my A125 died yesterday. As I was messing with it I checked the alternator output. The battery reads 12.65 engine off. With the engine running and some rpm it reads over 14, like 14.25 or so. That seems a little high, but I'm not an electrical expert. What do you guys think?

That seems perfectly fine. If you measured the output voltage of a 12v car battery charger you would see its about the same.

12.6v isnt bad for a 12v SLA battery or VLA battery. Just bring it inside and charge it up. The so called alternator on scooters and motorbikes doesn't charge up the battery as efficiently as a car does. Just try charging it up at a plug socket and check the voltage afterwards. Im sure it will live again. Its only really dead if its below about 10.5volts.
