Are you sure the Harley's are capable of such a ride?

Harley's are the biggest seller in the United States and get a bad rap because of jealousy and lack of knowledge. But, we be BAD scoota rider's and can judge other's ride's :o

My Son (650 Burgman) and I went for a 'breakfast run' Monday morning, on our day off and after a wonderful meal in Neosho, MO, dropped south into lower SW Missouri and went east out of Pineville on HWY K, towards 'Pea ridge, Arkansas' off HWY 90, both famous for their many excellent elevation changes and sweepers, through the beautiful forested Ozarks. We did 135 miles total with very nice 75 to 85 degree weather, with cloudy skies. Both scooters ran well and brought smiles to our faces. I rarely ride my Goldwing very much!

Relax Sam.  It's all in good fun.  However I'm still not a Harley fan nor do I think I ever well be.

Budweiser is the best selling beer in the US yet is piss water.  Just because something sells well does not mean it's quality.  It just means it has a good marketing department.

Sam:)

I don't know about a bad rap because of jealousy, I don't like them because they are annoying and I would rather be riding than have my bike in the shop all the time (like almost all of the Harley owners that I know).  And yes, I can judge because A: I've owned a Harley (and hated it) and B: on the Maxi end there is almost no difference between the scooter and a motorcycle (except the scooter gets better mileage, has more built in storage, and is cheaper to maintain and repair).

I'm not upset it's just that the rant gets old after a while.

I don't own a Harley but I had some in the past and they were all reliable and very easy to do maintenance on.

As far as the perceived 'obnoxious' sound, that's all in the eye/ ear of the individual. I don't like straight pipes but I do like tuned ones.

How many threads can you find on this site about loud and obnoxious 2 stroke, mighty 50cc scoots? Now I love the sound of a highly tuned 2 stroke engine, even non-silenced! I have built and raced so many dirt bikes and miss the 2 strokes and their simplicity.

I built custom dyno winning Harley engines in Southern, Calif in the 90's and was also a 'Road Captain' for a large group of nice, affluent and experienced people that rode their bikes all the time and had lots of charity runs and the like. There were very few breakdowns. We also had a local' community club that I co-started, with about 50 riders--Doctor's, Lawyers and Indian Chief types:)

I wouldn't put Budweiser in a porta-potti more less drink it:)

"Power to the Scooter!"
