If the coil was wired as you say its true that its a safety feature
But here its not the case
The switch has four terminals and
IG coming from the pickup
E Ground to the frame
BAT1 +12v coming from the battery
BAT2 +12v after connection
When the key is on the ON position
BAT1 and
BAT2 are cconnected so all the equipment are 12 v powered
When the key is on the OFF position or on the LOCK position
IG and
E are connected the motor stopping working because the pickup was grounded and not suitable for the CDI
The ground ot the coil is directly connected to the
E terminal who is going directly to the ground of the frame so there is no effect on this on any position of the key
I have not the bike here to see if the schematic is true (its the bike of my granchild) but if the schematic of kymco is true its very strange
