Another "feel good" movie...
« on: September 19, 2014, 08:02:50 PM »
You all know I like these type movies. They are way better than drug/cop/horror/falling off mountain, action adventure sh** that is my life.

Great actors, and the story line keeps you going.   "Begin Again" (that's the title)
Lot's of great music, and a feel good story line.

Just watched the trailer... I believe this is the same director as "begin again" as well. Carney or something.
Looks good, and I'm gonna D'load it tonight.
Thanks! Looking forward to a tear or two.

Cloud Atlas.

I D'loaded "Cloud Atlas... I have to give that movie a second chance. If you don't really watch it's rather hard to follow. Lot's of sub plot kind of stuff.

I remember that Sellers movie. but I wasn't as sensitive back then so maybe it's also worth a second shot.

Tried to find "Once" on my regular sites but haven't found it yet. Another movie that struck me... "How I live now". It is a bit different from what I like but it does the trick.

Vivo stated he doesn't watch movies cause he would rather find his own way to generate feelings. I watch because it takes my mind off daily nonsense, and I don't have to think. If it makes me "feel good" in the process... job well done IMHO.

Taking ones mind off daily nonsense is a healthy respite .  That's why I am a bigMonty Python fan . 8)

Life Of Brian was easily Monty Python's best work and stands the test of time.
The rest of their work ranges from mediocre to pretty awful.

Anywho, back on topic, feelgood movies I have enjoyed recently: Larry Crowne, Quartet, The Help and if subtitles don't bother you the Norwegian film O'Horten is truly brilliant.

What a bunch of "old farts". I haven't heard these titles in 40 years...

I saw Life of Brian the first day I landed in Miami after leaving home at 17. We drank a bottle of that "Black Tower" tequila in the theater, and I walked home.
I had no clue "home" was 14 miles from the theater.

I was told that this all started when Paris officials decided to tax scooter parking.....
But wikipedia says it was the new prices for the Michelin City Grips that riled these young people.

"Red and Black", and "Do you hear the people sing." Stunning music and a great story for mankind.
