5 micron fuel filter
« on: October 01, 2014, 03:25:00 PM »
I recently got some bad gas that partially plugged my fuel injector and gunked up the entire intake:

I've got a 12 micron fuel filter installed (Wix 33031 / Napa 3031), but apparently the crud was smaller than that.

I had to tear apart the entire intake system, the fuel hose and fuel injector, etc. and clean it out.

So, I'm looking for a 5 micron or smaller inline fuel filter that is small enough to fit in a scooter. I found one spin-on canister type that's 5 micron, but it's too large to fit under the Tupperware, so that's out.

Anyone know of one?

Do you use dirty corn gas? Sounds like an ethanol concentration.

I use Costco gas. It's got 10% ethanol. Never had the problem before, but I pulled in when the truck was filling the storage tank, and apparently that sucked up all the trash off the bottom of the tank, and their filters didn't catch it.

I HATE e10 with a passion. I'm lucky enough to live next to the river and lakes so there are plenty of stations selling "clear" gas. World of difference
