Need help from German friends!
« on: October 18, 2014, 04:07:57 PM »
Posting this over here as well.
Thank you for speaking English and German....Most of us Gringos can barely handle one language.
Cannot find much information on the Dunlop ScooterSmart tire that is on my scooter.....
Can you tell me how the tire performs in this test?
Thank you!

Obviously those tires work well even in the rain.

You would think that those folks would have checked to see if their bikes would start:)

I'm German-Scott but only speak the mandatory language of the United States recently and that's Spanish:)

- Dunlop developed the Scootsmart for the higher demands of modern scooters.
- The Scootsmart contains a Silica mixture.
- Experiences from the Roadsmart was used for development of the Scootsmart.
- Scootsmart is available in multiple dimensions and both diagonal/radial construction technique.
No details about perfomance. Neither for the other tyre.
(The track is Dunlops property. State something unfavourable and the generous manufacturer will replace the tester, not the product.)

There are some websites where customers can share their experience and evaluate the product.
http://www.reifentest.com/motorradreifen/dunlop/scootsmart/index.html
But I didn't find an ojective comparison.

Thank you very much for your reply!
Have you started riding in the mountains with snow yet?
When does it start to get really cold down out of the mountains where you are.
Here, tonight it is supposed to reach freezing....so will add xtra layer for my sunrise ride tomorrow.
Please send pictures of your winter riding - those are a treat to look at!
Thanks again ,Stig in Ohio

I live in the warmest area of Germany and we still have nice indian summer with more than +20°C in the afternoon.
Still waiting for the first freezing.
It's unpredictable when - and if! - it will snow.
My previous snow pictures where taken during an unusual winter onset.

You'll forgive my prying but what part of Germany is the warmest? I've been to several parts and can't recall one being "warmer" to speak of than other parts.

Upper Rhine Valley in the southwest (border to France). Also mocked as the Wine Valley.
Important towns Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Freiburg. And of course neighboring France with Strasbourg etc.
