That's about what I'm getting for gas too. I'm lucky, because I work 5 minutes from home. I go to work and back for 5 days on less than a gallon of gas. Then I burn up another gallon on my days off, running errands and joyriding.
So, about $7-8 a week is all my Super8 150 is costing me to run. Totally justifies all the little quirks with the Supe!

Per my calculation of the miles I had travelled since my last fill-up, I'm getting approx. 67.5mpg.

Reached the 1k milestone last night. I am really happy with the scooter thus far, and look forward to riding on my daily commute.

Planning to do a 1k oil service this weekend. I am debating to use the same oil that was used at the 200 and 600 mile service, or going with Rotella T6 synthetic (same oil I use for my Ninja 300).

Also, aside from the transmission oil (80w90) that the dealer uses, do any of you suggest to use other?

I'd say go for the Rotella. The sooner the synthetic gets in there the better. As for the gear oil I've only used 80w90, but I'm curious too

I would wait tel about 1500 miles until switching to synthetic. You don't really want synthetic oil until the rings are fully seated to the cylinder!!!

Rotella all the way! I ran rotella 15w-40 conventional for break in, and switched to the T6 5w-40 synth at around 1200+ miles.
My Super 8's motor loves the T6 oil. Plus, since I ride in the winter months as well, the lower winter weight makes the cold morning starts a breeze. Started up with no problems every morning so far, even at 15 degrees one morning!
On the gear oil, I ran conventional 80w-90 for a while, and then switched to 75w-90 synthetic gear oil before the cold weather started. Running like a champ on it.
3700+ miles, and counting!  :)

Manimal: I'm glad you're enjoying your new S8. I had a similar problem when I 1st took delivery of my S8 (since sold it) One of my jets was clogged. Took it to the dealer & 15 minutes she was perfect. You should put a Shad 33 liter on the back. You'll need a Kymco SKU# K0SP59ST (Shad Top Box Mount Kit) Here's some pics of my Kymco S8 150:

Be safe & enjoy.

Quick Edit: A MUST is these mirror extender/risers. For $18.00 you can see so much better then the standard mirror. They make a world of difference.

I use Rotella T6 as well.  I have over 18,000 miles on mine.  I installed some magnetic drain plugs on mine for cheap insurance since it has no oil filter.  Other than a little fuzz the first few oil changes they haven't picked up anything.

I almost bought a super8, nice looking scoot. You can't beat the price too for a Kymco quality scoot.
