Not too sure yet. Even the Kymco dealers in the USA couldn't yet answer this question. However, looking at the engine specs, the stroke is the exact same as the 300 GTI motor.....which means that the cylinder and piston maybe a direct fit. ;)

Look up the part numbers for the crank. That will tell all.
If the 300 has a lower gear ratio a 400 "kit" will turn it into a little screamer. If the gears are the same you still have a few more HP to play with.

Will check that out. I still have not come across a parts schematic with part numbers for the Xciting 400 online. I guess this model is not available yet on the US market.

I should order a set of cylinder gaskets for the 400 and 300 to see if they are identical.

That's a start... Perhaps Kymco US can verify the crank numbers. I'd call direct to get quicker help.

I don't think it's actually supercharged.........
I think they are just calling it "supercharged" because of the high torque output. LIES LIES LIES!!!!!!!!!! Still a sexy looking engine, but not SUPERCHARGED!!!!! Supercharges are a thing of the past honestly. I hope we see a day where small engine manufacturers start to utilize turbocharging. A turbo IS FREE POWER. Wasted heat goes to producing more compression. A supercharger robs power to make power, a turbo uses waste to produce power. If I ever get the money and free time I have been dreaming to turbo my 250.

The turbo doesn't increase compression, it increases the inlet pressure and the volume of fuel/air mix.
Its really just a means of burning more fuel.

On the other thread we figured it out. No SC involved. Their just coining a phrase.
I'm an old school SuperCharger guy myself. I've cut down plenty of Detroit Diesel 671's for small block chevies.
They actually take less HP to run than a mechanical water pump. I'd prefer a blower over a re-plumbed exhaust any day. (there is a pun in there)

I meant in the past as far as economy. Why do you think you don't see any SC cars except gas guzzling muscle cars (and few of those are sc). The h2 is pretty cool but 100% marketing gimmick, than bike prolly gets 20mpg, and 300hp is to e much to even use on the track, it would get stomped by a motto GP bike except on the straight. They just did that to say "hey look we came out with a bike that's got 300hp". This is all just my opinion of course, but superchargers are the past, turobos are the present and future (and i owned a SC MR2 btw, it got 25mpg while my n/a got over 35mpg).

I get ya! Yes Kawasaki really pulled together all it's branches to create something beautiful, and very interesting from a technical point of view. Amazing machine that is, but I understand it's limitations in real life.

Don't get me wrong either, that thing has an amazing engine. Pure design porn. I would have loved to see it come in a turbo format.

Turbos suck!

Too many reasons to despise them...
 The GT 500 2015 Mustang has gone back to SC, and it make 675HP/628 lbs torque, at 27 highway mpg
It' a 6.6 liter engine.

Detroit diesel makes the 2 stroke SC + turbo v12 diesel. It's the best engine ever made. They run thousands of hours before needing seals/rings

Turbos run hot/blow seals/clog from carbon, and slow down. They do nothing to increase compression/make power. You need 3-6 of them (worst to best) in line to equal the boost of ONE 671. Actually a forced air induction (hood/cowl scoops) make more power at speed than any turbo I know of.
The concept is cool but the tech end falls flat. Like I said... Gimme a blower any day.

Forty years of building some of the baddest marine engines on the planet, and not a turbo on one of them.
