Jeez, what happened?

You only really need foam under your butt, so i would shave the rest down a bit until it appears even.  It doesn't have to be perfectly smooth, because the cover will even things out.  I shaved mine with a power drill and a wire brush attachment, which you can see on the bottom right.  It shaves off like butter!

An electric carving knife works wonders as well...

Hey guys, cheers for that. Zombie that would be way hard for me to do lol.
I've been phoning around for a new seat and only manage to find one workshop who could do it.
$300 seat + labor. As for upholstering, wow the price was too much $450 when I gave them the photo?? I think the new seat is my best option.

Will post back with the new seat.

The shop obviously had no idea what needed to be done or how to do it.
I work w/ a fella here in town that charged me 40 bucks to make my cover. Granted it was a favor, and just for the cost of materials. 100-150.00 is a fair price for the whole job. 450.00 is a raping.

If you decide to recover yourself after adding some new foam...I highly recommend using sailrite 4-way stretch brand vinyl. It is a purpose-made motorcycle seat covering that stretches to help remove a lot of the wrinkles and pleats...and beats the living snot out of Mom's Fabric Store vinyl. Youtube the demo.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Stig,
Respectfully, what they are showing is a custom cut/sewn seat cover. I can bend plywood to fit if it is pre shaped.

BUT on the same track... The material they use for vinyl tops on cars is of the same genre, and it really does bend the way you want.

The only draw back is the fact it has no seams, and does look like a pulled over cover.

I guess there are as many ways to cover a seat as there are active posters here. MY first, and only recommend is to find a Marine re-cover shop (I didn't want to go to the trouble of spelling Upholstery), and have them do it.
Auto shops think they are gold, and same for most bike shops. A mom, and pop Marine shop will laugh at how easy this job is, and charge accordingly.

I had to spell Upholstery after all so it didn't save me anything by avoiding that word in the first place. Hell...
