You have to take the two clam shell headset pieces apart, the front one with the bulb lifts forward. One screw in front below the headlight, two screws in back. And you have to remove the turn signals. The top of the front then prys apart gently.

You are awesome I have all screws (probably more than I need) I am scared in how to safely get the front underside apart from the red front clam shell body part... it unsnaps?  I do not want to crack it

The black WILL NOT COME OFF!!!! There are hidden screws for the black half. The RED half pops forward, pry from the top of it and it will "pop" off the black part if you have all the screws out. Again with turn signals off too.
