FROGG TOGG ToadSkinz Review
« on: January 29, 2015, 02:17:29 AM »
Don't send things back very often - but was pretty disappointed in the faults found in the Frogg Togg "ToadSkinz" motorcycle rain pants from this company. These pants were much more substantial w/heavier fabric than my old pair - but I'm returning them.
Zipper was broken, tab was undone, sizing was too small.
I can say this because I've been using Frogg Togg "Road Toad" pants for nearly 2 years. These are light weight fabric (almost a paper product) with a quick easy fit, pass through pockets, and a quick zip at the ankles after pulling them on. I use them all winter as 'over-pants', and use them for every rain ride throughout the year.
The fabric is so light it has just worn out - so tried to step up in quality - but ended up ordering another pair.
FYI - the price from Frogg Togg company is often better than can be found elsewhere....& they offer free shipping. For $25 they keep me dry, a touch warmer, and are easy on / easy off!

Another selling factor for me is that they have a nice reflective piping down the sides - to increase your visibility to all the F-150's hunting you at night.
So, it's a thumbs down on the $60 "ToadSkinz" rain pants - but a go again on the $25 "Road Toads"
I want wet proof, reflective, quick on&off for when I get to work, good 'over' fit, cheap. I don't ride for leisure in the rain - if so, I'd buy some pricey rain trousers. These are for commuting to work year 'round in all kinds of weather.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Over the years I've owned all types of rain gear from K-Mart cheap to high end. About ten years ago I went industrial for rain gear and never looked back. Tough, bright and waterproof. Not to mention easy on the budget.

These are my latest fave rain pants.

I bought a cheap light weight Frogg Togg suit, "top and bottoms", about 5-6 years ago. I love them.
They keep me dry and I don't sweat when I wear them. They are light weight and comfortable.
I have examined the heavier weight ones in stores. I still like the thin light weight ones the best.
Wish Frogg Toggs would make the hood a little longer front to back so they would give better face protection in a blowing rain.
Not perfect but, Frog Togs are my favorite.

Yeah I found that they are cheap in quality. I switched to GAGE rain gear from West Marine. Good quality.

I'm surprised.  I have a Frogg Togg suit and never had an issue.  I love the damn thing.

I just bought one yesterday before seeing this post.  Looks like I may have lucked out.
Livung in Florida I wanted something light so it wouldn't be like a portable sauna.  I will use it on my scoot and also my Gheeno.

Nothing better for the skinny than a Gheenoe!

They take up a lot of room when packing for a trip, the "wind breaker nylon style" I have fold up better, other than that they work well.
