Service Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, etc.
« on: May 09, 2015, 05:17:02 PM »
I think we should get freebee service manuals and wiring diagrams for our scoots as well as any other tech data that is available. Why? Since WE are left in the lurch by MOST dealers (respects to Zombie and B&L) and their inept techs and have to solve our own problems we should get some consideration. Most dealers have HORRENDOUS prices for shop rates that owning a scooter is financially counterproductive. Thankfully, the brand is pretty well made and pretty reliable.

I agree, I hate how it's like some sacred information that the normal Joe has no access too. Although the Kymco book is about $10-20 on eBay, or you can sign up for CyclePedia, Kymco paid them a LOT of money to write up those manuals I'm sure.
2002 Kymco B&W 300; MRP 78MM "300CC", Naraku cam, Yoshimura rS3 exhaust, 17g Sliders, Yellow torque spring drilled airbox, stock carb #115 main #40 pj.

2001 "Yamaha" Zuma AKA MBK Booster; MHR OverRange, Dellorto 19mm BHBG, Polini "big" intake, RS-3 Rear shock, Stock cylinder.

With my latest exhaust issue, it seems that it all comes down to the warranty. KYMCO wants to make sure that if they are offering a warranty that the scooter is taken care of by the proper personnel. Now that is their side of the story and I can understand that. The problem comes in when you know more than the mechanic working on it and they won't listen to you. Part of a dealers survival is the service dept. I just don't understand not having the proper personnel unless there is a shortage of good scooter mechanics out there. Also could be that there are only about 30,000 scoots sold per year in the USA. That's not very many of you look at the number of scooter dealers in the USA.
