High quality cheap head temp gauge

Just found these http://www.amazon.com/Trail-Tech-Temperature-Meter-72-ET3/dp/B0031BIWX2
Ordered one up for the zuma. Good for air cooled scoots.
2002 Kymco B&W 300; MRP 78MM "300CC", Naraku cam, Yoshimura rS3 exhaust, 17g Sliders, Yellow torque spring drilled airbox, stock carb #115 main #40 pj.

Possibly, you would need the water cooled version of this gauge, it needs to be tapped into the coolant passage somewhere so not an easy install.

I've been using one of their tachometers for over a year. Stuck it on with a small piece of 3 M body tape. Works fine. Battery still going.
Unlike some of you guys, a selling point for me was that my LIKE200i IS Air Cooled.~~~¡!.....no coolant leaks, etc.,etc. to worry about. VWs were a/c for a bazillion miles and years....all over the globe....for the same reason as my thinking, so wasn't worried. Keep fresh, good quality oil and oil level....and  good grade of gas, valves looked after, correct spark plug....and no worries!

Just wanted to report back on this gauge. Works great gives me piece of mind when hauling ass (45 lol) on the 50cc. Installation was easy, Came with 3M tape. Sensor wire was too short for scooter, extension was easy. Didn't realize these gauges were made in the USA, and local (Washington stste) to me, and was the cheapest cht gauge online!!!! Was able to tell right away I could go leaner, the zuma runs at 300F, pretty mild air temp this week and I suspect on a 70F day I would get to 325 on a full throttle run. Anyone interested should get one!!!!!! It's a must for 2t. Battery powered so no wiring to the scoot, two year battery life. I'll be interested too see how hot it gets when I have it built up to 70cc, this gauge goes to 500f when even the more expensive ones only go to 300. Here are a couple pictures of the sensor and gauge installed.

I take it the main purpose of a temp gauge is to keep on eye on temps while doing mods and changing things around as opposed for the need to pull over and cool down while on a journey or both ?

Both, although with this this still 50cc it stays really cool, unlike with 70cc when I'll actually need it to not blow up.

The highest I've seen on my 50cc is about 315, stays pretty cool. Thinking I'm still a little rich.
