Removal of Sh-33 Topcase lock to re-key it to my People 150.

Hi,
Would anyone know how to remove the lock from  my Shad-33 Topcase so I can have a local locksmith re-key it to my 2009 People 150 scooter ignition key, thus using only one key for both functions?   I'm trying to learn the procedure before I do it, so I don't screw up the lock (and maybe won't be able to put it back together).  I can see inside the topcaase that there are two plastic tabs which, if pushed, I suppose, will release the whole lock mechanism, but there are two springs involved which might be difficult to put back together.

There are two main types of lock cores that I know of.  One uses a flat metal clip that slides around either side of the lock on the inside.  You just slide the clip off and the whole lock assembly comes out.  The other uses a master key to remove the core.  The master key typically looks like a blank key, but is slightly longer to engage the last pin of the core which allows you to pull the entire core straight out.  Worst case, just take the whole box to the locksmith!
