2009 Kymco MXU 500 CAMS and Other Performance Mods
« on: November 26, 2009, 06:23:41 PM »
Yesterday i put in a set of, powroll cams with the "woods" grind
let me tell u this thing is insane now, i can do wheelies from a stand still i gained over 15kmph  and it seems to be better on fuel as well

I also added in a “magic box” it keep the voltage of your bike and a constant level so instead of it going from say 11v to 15v while drive it says consistently at the proper voltage.  This also increased my performance and made it work better as well

Other mods i did is, different clutch roller, jets and a exhaust

Now that's what I'm talk'n about! These scoots are pretty good stock but w/ a LITTLE more work they truly rock, and roll! Which voltage conditioner did you use? I have been keeping my eyes open for a good one at a fair price! Right now I have a 25'000 mfd capacitor in line on the 12v out on the regulator. It works well on accell/ de-accell but is not noticeable on start up.

That's pretty pricey! That is exactly why I have been looking. Is the mxu a carb. set-up? The reason I ask is the conditioners seem to work best on fuel injected engines. I run a VERY rich idle circut to keep from melting the piston on de-accell. I am trying to obtain a hotter spark at low rpm's to keep up w/ the mix. On long de-accell I will almost foul the plug. I found the cap. helped. but I'm not sure about spending 150. on a MAYBE cure. It may help if you knew what I have...'04 ZX/ Super fever, 70cc ported Malossi cast iron jug, partially skirted malossi piston, 2mm shave on a Malossi alum. head, Technigas tuned pipe running NO packing, 27'000 volt Imag ign coil, Sutai custom programed factory race cdi., 27 mm delorto carb. w/ full flow intake, Malossi reed cage, and custom cut Boysen reeds. I also have ALL Malossi cvt parts, w/ straight cut Malossi 8.3-1 gear set. I have an NGK br7hs10 in it right now because I cannot find a replacement in the iridium line that will match the shave on the head. I just need a hotter spark below 5,000 rpm's Any help is appreciated!

Thanks kenny! I,ll look into that one further. Sounds as if it is the same thing I am running w/ an extra filter cap returning "dirty" voltage to the battery through an extra cap. I'll see what I can find on it and post back.
