After 25,500 miles on the OEM belt I decided to not roll the dice and replaced it. It took all of an hour and 15 minutes. Easy peazy lemon squeezy! The old belt was missing 3 teeth so in hindsight it was a good move to not wait any longer and next time I will check it every 5000 miles just to be safe. Only tool needed was an impact and deep sockets.

Thanks to de dee for all his helpful advice and tips! Wish I could have found an after market belt since the 130 I was charged by Kymcomonster parts seemed excessive but then again I cant complain if I manage to get another 15-20,000 out of the next one.

I rolled the the dice and lost.  I replaced the original belt at 17,213 miles in 10/2013.  Today at 37,672 miles, I think my belt broke.  I was going around 70 MPH on  Highway 114  in Grapevine.  The next thing, I knew I was losing power and the engine stop running.  No engine light turned on. When I stopped, I tried to start it but no avail.  She did not want to start,  It was 3 hours before the tow company showed up.  Local Kymco dealer (Moxie Scooters) is closed on Monday, so I had her taken to  my house.  I emailed and left a voice message asking Moxie to pick up my scooter tomorrow. 

I will let everyone know later what happened.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me, 2nd time I broke a belt too. First time, it didnt stall but I lost power like a transmission slipping and could smell the burning belt, pulled over got a ride home and loaded it into my truck.
2nd time it stalled out and wouldnt start just like yours, got it home and the belt had shredded and part of it got caught up in the variator /pulleys and tightened up so the engine couldnt run.

Got me a new Mollassi belt and now I check it real good every few thousand miles. Now that I`ve had it apart and back together a few times, its easy to do, quick, and prevents me getting ruining the scooter, getting into a wreck, or just plain being stranded again.
