Well today I fired up Bandit (2013 KYMCO Super8 150) today. I've been having battery issues with the Xciting so I thought I shouldn't be neglecting the Super8's battery. It took to the Battery Tender well and only needed a couple hours of charging. Firing him up though after only riding a couple times in 2.5 months was a bit more of a challenge. It was very comparible to the Spring startup after winterizing him. After a good warmup I came back into the house to get bundled up. Coveralls, riding jacket with liner, gloves with windbreaker slipons and last but not least, I cracked open a couple of handwarmers to slip into those gloves. I immediately noticed the huge weight difference as I backed out of the garage. Bandit felt like I was tossing around one of my kids when they were little. Oh how we get used to the weight of a bigger scoot. I took off down the street and then came the second observation. Nimble. WOW, I can just toss this thing around the street, left to right, at will. A smile comes to my face and I hit the country roads. Around one of the lakes I ride and put on about 15 miles. I fillup at the gas station and bring him back home. In goes the Sta-bil into the tank and in the house I go. Wow, these hand warmers are just getting going. I head out again to circle the other lake in my area and another 25 miles have gone by. I get back home and have logged 1.5 hours of riding on Bandit and feel like a kid who just got an early Christmas present. So much fun I now see why people own more than one scooter. I thought I had graduated and was off to college with my Xciting 500. Bandit has reminded me of why I fell in love with scootering to begin with. Hello old friend.
