Transporting your Kymco

Howdy,

 I'm hoping to get my first Kymco this Summer. My problem is that my nearest dealers are 65 and 70 miles away, respectively (In opposite directions, but both are conveniently on the Interstate.)
 I own a Toyta Tundra which has been "trailer prepped", but do not have a trailer hitch.
 Anyway, what's the most efficient way to transport my Kymco to and from the dealer? BTW, I'm impressed with all the good things I've read about Kwang Yang and can't wait to get a 250cc scoot-if there's a convenient way to transport it.

Howdy,

 Wordslinger: It rains often here in NW Louisiana, and as much as I'll enjoy my scoot, traveling 65 miles in the rain (or cold) isn't to my liking. :)
 I do have an aluminum ramp and tie-down equipment I've used for my 300 lb. Daelim scooter (wish I still had that bike). My only issue is any bike over 300 lbs is a bit much for me and my tiny Asian wife to load/unload on a ramp into my 4x4 height Tundra; tall bed on that truck.
 Anyone else want to share a practical method of transporting a bike?

It shouldn't be much of an issue with a ramp.  I can fairly easily get my 200 lbs bike in and out of a truck with 2 people.  It is do-able with one, but tricky!  Just pick up the front end by the fork and put it on the tailgate.  Then grab the back and roll it on it.  I usually just lean it to one side of the truck and close the tailgate.  I'm also not too concerned with scratches though, I've got plenty already! ;D

How about backing up to a loading dock or a retaining wall and then droping the tailgate . That is how I used to load my riding mower for service . Good luck .
