After my A50 4 stroke is running....time to work on my 2 stroke

I came across a a50 two stroke which i bought a couple years ago.  I bought this beaut for 20 bucks there was no plastic on it and i left it at my parents hoping to fiddle with it, but was too busy.  I bought my 09 4stroke new and wasnt concerned about the 2stroke, but now that i have pretty much rebuilt the motor on the 4 stroke I think after i get this one running I may fiddle with the 2 stroke which is not starting I think the motor is good on it and I have the seat just not the side plastic and front headlight/plastic.  I also now have some time to fiddle with it thanks to this HORRIBLE ECONOMY.  After I get my 09 running I will be definatly be asking some questions about the 2 stroke.  It will be great to have a second scoot as back up or to have friends ride with me!

Two stokes are so much fun to tune, and ride also! ;D  I bet you will ride the two stroke more than the four when you get them both running!

I had most fun riding scoots on my Piaggio NRG 50 extreme, after installing 72 cc kit, another carb, air filter and Leo Vince ZX exhaust.
It developed 10.5 hp instead of OEM 5.5 hp.
It screamed like crazy, revved 11.500 rpm + and could outrun pretty much every 125 cc 4-stroke.
Top speed was 110+ km/h indicated and on the road between cities I could easily overtake cars doing 100 km/h.

However, I strongly dislike higher displacement 2 stroke engines, for example, 125 cc 2 stroke, that develop usually 30+ hp.
All the power is developed towards end of the power band and they are quite unpredictable, especially in the rain.

You're right about that axy! all 2t engines have a "Power band" that can be quite upsetting if you don't keep it in check. I have had 1 2t motorcycle (Yamaha 250t). While it was fun for a while I would not buy another. Good quality, just not very easy to ride responsibly.

They are definately "peaky"!  That what makes them so fun though, IMO! ;D
