Red LED?  That's your temperature light.  If it's on then your engine is running too hot, or there is a wiring/electrical problem.  Check that the two wires that connect to the temp sensor (really close to the spark plug on the side of the cylinder head) are in tact and connected properly.

I can find you a wiring diagram if you need it.

Check this out. http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/parts.aspx  Just type in the make and model and they have exploded diagrams of the whole bike.

http://www.timtaylor.net/Scooter/Manuals.htm   towards the bottom of that page is the Kymco section. The S9 manual is there. It sounds like the sender is shorted for the temp. You can disconnect the wires at the sender or in the harness, and if the engine is cold, and the light goes out the sender is bad. http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/default.aspx  This is the site I recommend for the sender if you need one. Good luck, and post your results for someone.

I didn't forget you hillbilly, http://www.scootertherapy.com/bosspage.html   the bottom of that page has the boss for $35.00   Or I think you can contact Josh@   http://www.scooterinvasion.net/forum/index.php  He owns The Scooter Garage in N.C. The link is to his forum, and he is very active on it so a post under the scooterists lounge section will get a quick response from him
