The stock fans are made of a Nylon type material that tends to crack over time. My stock fan had dozens of them. There may be a loose blade due to one breaking at 1 end, or as sdithesloth found you may be hearinr the rollers "echo" thru the flywheel, as the cvt cover shields most of the roller noise. Easiest way to find out is, Remove the plastics, cvt cover, and the engine shroud. Make sure the jack shaft for the kick start is either removed, or held in place so as not to fall out, and start the engine. You will be able to see any broken blades on the fan, and hear where any noises are coming from. Could also be some debris in the shroud near the fan. Either way taking it all apart is the best way to inspect everything.

take the fan cover off and run the scoot like that for a few and see if the sound goes away.
maybe a stone or something in the fan,

ok zombie i`ll keep that in mind for expensive parts, it doesen`t make any sense otherwise. i`ll buy belt and air filter from here. Air filter is 15$
but kymco rarely brakes down.

i noticed that sound coming from the fan only from kymco scooters. baotian sounds so nice  >:(
i`m going to take off the cover and start it like that,  then start it without the white fan

back from the scooter.
the sound seems to come from inside (bearing or ax) maybe echo as someone mentioned, not so loud as in the video.
Don`t care anymore. I`ll run it hard from now even if it`s going tu f*** itself up!

From the first day I had mine it has what sounds like a rattle in the engine. I had some rags stuffed around the exhaust header for cleaning, and noticed the rattle was gone. Turned out the rattle was just the pipe resonating at a certain rpm. If the bearings are worn/bad you can feel that by spinning the engine by hand w/ the spark plug removed.
