09 Agility valve adjustment???'s
« on: April 29, 2010, 07:04:03 PM »
The manual calls for 0.04mm on the intake and exhaust, all my feller gauges have no such thing. they have .004 but thats inchs, and all the mm are more like .152 .203 .508 and so on, do i need to buy a new set off feller gauges or am i just reading them wrong. Its just turned 2k km, so thats the first check figured might as well. Thanks

..are you talking about an agility 125 or 50cc...

..the agility 125cc gap is .12mm which is @ equal to .0047 inch (five thousandths will work)

..the agility 50cc gap is .04mm which is @ equal to .00157 inch (one and one-half thousandths)...

..it's confusing because you're posting in the 125cc board, and quoting the 50cc specs..

..in either case, you're doing the right thing by checking the clearances....

peace

Ok sorry to be confusing, but i have a decent explantion. So it is on the 125cc but i pulled up this manual from a different topic on this fourm here is the link...Kymco Agility 125 Service Manual    So from this source page 34 says that the clearance is 0.12mm. Now on page 39 it says 0.04mm. Same manual. So thats where im getting confused. So you said the 0.12mm is correct, if thats right i need to take it apart again. thanks

..while these service manuals are a great source of information, there are some mis-prints from time to time..

..I would have to believe that .12 mm would be correct..

..can't imagine the clearance is th' same as a 50cc...

..any of you 125 owners want to clarify???

..make the .005 go tight and the .004 not at all, and you'll be fine...

..seven thousandths of a millimeter will not hurt your performance at all....
