Dayco belt
« on: May 12, 2010, 09:58:05 PM »
Anyone know where I can get a KEVLAR DAYCO BELT here in the USA for my X500? I went to their web site, but could not find & or order the belt from this site? Also, how long does the stock rubber belt last? I have been told 10,000 miles, & the dealer I went to swears that he sold an X500 to some old guy that has over 35,000 miles on his original belt???? This sounds a bit long to me? I think this guy had his belt changed somewhere else, or did the change himself! I have checked out a few sites, and they want about $200.00 for a KEVLAR BELT!!!! I hope the DAYCO is much cheeper. Sissy.

I changed my OEM beltat 24000k (18000m) it looked ok no delamination or anything but had been slipping slightly at take off. I am keeping it a as a stand by spare ;)

I'm using the malossi kevlar belt for 10,000km now, still lools ok and it's cheaper than factory belt.

My first one was slipping at 13k miles. The second slipped a little at 16,500 miles. I am on 3rd OEM belt at just over 30,000 miles on my '07 Xciting 500.
