« on: March 31, 2012, 02:18:41 AM »
Was up all! Jus picked me up another zx50 for $100. it ain't in good condition but its all good.
With this zx, Im gonna build a baby stroker( this is what call it here in the Hi) maybe a 94cc or 104cc.
It will have the same gearing and trans. Exhaust will be.a scorpion 72cc to 125cc.
Still lookin at options for crank n bbk. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

I have two of them one on this,  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dio-ZX-Joker-Shadow-DD-Jolie-Fever-Elite-SK50-SA50-50mm-86cc-Big-Bore-Cylinder-/180780018699?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item2a17542c0b&vxp=mtr
And one on this,  http://www.spi-parts.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=malossi+47mm Running this piston, http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-TRAIL-GT80-OVERSIZE-PISTON-47-5mm-CI-GT80PS-/130566941165?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e666569ed&vxp=mtr
The ruima is much faster top end but the Malossi is much quicker, and higher reving.
To use the piston/Malossi/stroker you have to run a total shim of 4.4mm on the base, and shave 3.75mm off the piston skirt. I also shaved 2.75mm off the Malossi head to use an aluminum head gasket, and get a 65% squish @ .8mm. You have to use a br?hs or the stock br?hsa will hit the piston. The Ruima does low 70's, and the Malossi does mid 60's. You need at LEAST 8:1 gears. The OEM wont pass 50.
Those are the links I use (except the Ruima... Jw is more expensive). Here are the gears http://www.jiangwayne.com/scooter/p_tags.php?t=2 For the secondaries. Order the Primaries from http://www.spi-parts.com/. A malossi OR Jasill Var are both good choices. DO NOT GET A DIO VAR. Thats why I say either of those two. Dio vars have a longer boss, and thicker var. They will/can NEVER get to full closed cause the rollers run out of ramp. Anything you order from SPI, ask for Louie. He is the owner, and will give 10% for mentioning the forum.
You can use anything from a 19-28mm carb, and pretty much any manifold/reed combo you want. The biggest gains are in the cvt.

How about a link for the Pipe? The scorpian...

How do you think I feel. Two completely different set ups. The screaming in my head wont stop. Have you gotten the Yamaha piston yet? I found some cool tricks for the Malossi

4mm aluminum spacer on the base. 1 stock gasket under the shim, and a PAPER cut out gasket for the top smeared with Indian shellac. Just a THIN coat to stop the paper from burning. A TOTAL shim of 4.4mm. That fully opens the ports, and leaves a deck of -2.5. Belt sand, and then flat sand (on glass) the Head until you take 2.4mm off. That will give you a PERFECT 65%squish band on the head, and allow you to use an aluminum head gasket. The engine will run to 8000 rpms as is, and top out near 45mph. It is a good SAFE spare kit. The kicker is milling the Cylinder or adding the 44 stroker  and it will spin up to 11gs, and top in the mid 60's. With the 44mm stroker there is NO milling on the cylinder but the shim needs 2 full gaskets under the shim, and two on top. Being a 5.2mm TOTAL shim. Using 2 head gaskets you will get a perfect .8mm squish
The piston skirt needs to be cut 3.75mm to clear the transfers for either crank but the boost port windows line up perfect.
Ether set HAS to run the brhs plugs as the others will punch the dome.
I've been running this in all sorts of Config's. I now like the stroker/milled head the best.
ALL of this work can be done at HOME with a good belt sander,Jig saw, Dremel tool, and a pane of glass/sandpaper. Even cutting the Alum. spacer was done with a Jig saw, and dremel.
I promised my Tech pipe to Bats some months ago, and would like to get it to him (if he is still zx'n) so I am in the market for a pipe for this kit. Been debating the Phongeer, Scorpion, Burial. I think the Phongeer on the Malossi, and the Burial on the Ruima unless the Scorpion has a good price.
Hey Beast... Do you still see the Arrow pipes in Hai? I have found ONE for 600.00. It's not worth that...

I'll do my best! Took a page out of your book and copy and pasted all that to wordpad and saved it. To much for me to remember. I'll let you know, not if but when, I have questions.

Okay, I already do. When you say "and a PAPER cut out gasket for the top smeared with Indian shellac." Paper? Like paper paper or gasket material? Notebook paper? Construction paper?
