People 50 performance
« on: May 10, 2010, 01:50:23 AM »
Just information. 2004 People 50-2 stroke. De-restricted, new belt, new tires, stock muffler replaced with same and weights replaced with Molossi 66 9823.NO 6HT Roll x 16x 13 gr.08 at 8,000 Km. Replaced belt again at 16,600 Km. and adjusted choke( never shutting off.) I have always used Motul 710 ester 2T 100 % Synthese motor oil. I ride it to work 5 days a week. The terrain is mostly hills( some steep. some gradual) with stretches of flat. I let it warm-up for about a minute in the morning. I can reach about 40 mph in the flat parts. On the steep portions(uphill) I slow down to about 25-30 mph. Down hill I reach 45 easily. I have had it up to 50 and I know it could get a little more. But, my mechanic told me not to push it. I don't "hot rod" it, but I do not "baby" it either. When I first had it, I went through a lot of spark plugs. I have now basically figured out how to throttle and extend the life of the plug. I keep the tires inflated to the proper pressure (25 in the front and 35 in the back.) I keep it maintained and as of today(19,260Km.), I get 71 mpg. It does the job for me.

But, if you want the economy, no mods, ouch.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

Would it be the same number as the stock plug?

It is almost the same # but it will have HIX in it instead of probably HS.  Just go the the auto parts store and give them your stock plug number and they should be able to get you an iridium one.
