Oil consumption.
« on: March 28, 2016, 12:54:10 AM »
Is it normal for a scooter to consume some oil between oil changes if ridden hard? I noticed that my Xciting 250ri seems to approach the add line shortly before needing an a oil change . I top it off before it reaches the add Mark. I change the oil when the reminder light comes on . ( about 1200 miles, I think). I usually end up adding oil at about 800 miles. The drive to work is approximately 50 miles ONE WAY. And it's ALL done at 60-65 mph. I'm thinking it's normal consumption for the type of driving.

80 Mph from 50cc? Was he lying? Or am I misinformed?

I had a guy to ask me the top speed of my Xciting 250. I told him 80ish. He then told me that he was able to do the same speed on his 50cc Chinese scooter.(don't remember the brand). I looked at him really strange , and he said that he had de-restricted it and done other modifications. I didn't argue with him. I simply said "wow"! But I don't believe him AT ALL!

But I don't know too much about scooters other than the one I have. I wanted to say BULL s#%#. But I don't cuss. Is there anyone here who believes that you can wring 80 mph out of a 50 cc Chinese scooter?

He didn't seem to be too bright. So I suspect that his speedometer is in km/h. If so, then he would actually only be doing about 49 mph. AND I suspect even that is an optimistic speedometer.

I can believe 49 mph. BUT 50? I'd have to see that for myself.

Is he lying and or stupid? Or am I missing something? Lol.

Good news for new Kymco buyers
« Reply #4 on: March 31, 2016, 10:16:51 AM »
Kymco recently significantly reduced the prices of their new products in the USA. They credit it to greater economies of scale since they now make products for other manufacturers.

I wish I was in position to buy a new product. I'd surely take advantage of this opportunity.
