Dash lights

Hi guys can anybody tell me if i can run 12v 5watt bulbs in the dash board(clocks) without them getting to hot?

They put in 1.7w my regulator went the other day and blew all the bulbs the shop replaced all but the dash ones but trying to track them down is hard

I would stick with the 1.7 watt bulbs. I am sure the enclosure would stand the heat but the brilliance of the 5 w might be a real distraction if you were to ride after dark. Now to find bulbs other than Kymco might be a challenge! Pull one or all and 1. make sure they are all the same and 2. try and find an auto parts replacement. You can find the type on the internet where pictures are available. Most catalogs like Mouser Electronics have dimensions.
