450i Cab Enclosures and Lexan Windshields
« on: June 10, 2016, 10:56:54 PM »
Here's a link to our Pacific Eagle UTV 450i webpage  http://www.pacificeagleutv.com/kymco-450 . We have just finished designing a full range of cab enclosure combos and lexan windshields for the 450i.
These are fully modular which means each panel connects to the next panel except for a Vinyl windshield which is always connected to a top. All our enclosure panels are designed to work in with factory & aftermarket Hard Windshields & Hard Tops.
Our lexan windshields are a two piece split windshield with quick connect clamps for the premium and deluxe windshield models. The standard windshield has standard loop clamps. The bonus with a split windshield is its two windshields in one. Remove the top panel and its a half windshield. We also include a dual vent for no extra cost in the lower windshield panel.
For members on this forum, we will also give you a 5% discount by using this code - Kymfdis5.

Our lexan windshields start at $239.99 which is very competitive for the quality, plus you have a 5% discount on that price. I don't think you will find a split lexan windshield with dual vents priced better than our standard windshield.

Price out "lexan" plastic and you will see why they are expensive. I made my own as there were none availiable back in January and I have almost 180 and did all the work myself.  Lexan is great stuff but not cheap.

$239.99 sounds reasonable but by looking at the pics I couldn't tell the difference in the lowest starting priced screen and the higher priced one. Also what is the approximate shipping fee to zip code 32205. Thank you.

Our Standard UTV Lexan Windshields are made from Lexan 9034 with flex trim along the hood line. We use loop clamps to secure to the roll cage. The Premium windshield is the same as the Standard windshield and has flex trim added on the sides, plus we use quick connect clamps instead of loop clamps. The Deluxe windshield is the same as our Premium windshield but we use scratch resistant Lexan MR10.  All windshields are two piece windshields & include Dual Vents. Find out more here http://www.pacificeagleutv.com/lexan-windshields.

Coach, your shipping quote is $22.61 with UPS Ground.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a lexan windshield / roof package and trying to decide if the deluxe package with MR10 Lexan is worth the extra cake, while I don't expect to be doing too much work in the rain and unlikely to get wipers, I am on gravel roads a lot, following vehicles @ 40+mph in a cloud of dust and concerned with pitting from getting hit like a sandblaster

Gravel can and will cause damage to standard Lexan 9034 if you are drive on those roads a lot. It's better to have small rocks and dust hit your windshield than you. Any pitting depends on what type of gravel you are driving on. Limestone, granite & dolomite is crushed and has sharp edges which can make a mess of your windshield. Creek rock is polished and smooth, but bigger rocks will still damage the lexan. Other surfaces like fine gravel wont cause much damage if any at all unless you don't wash your windshield correctly.
randyo, I've done a lot of driving on gravel too & regardless of the type of rock if you stay back far enough from the vehicle in front of you, pitting wont be a problem. Most damage is done with incorrectly washing your windshield. The fine dust or grit that coats your UTV is just like sandpaper & that must be taken care of before you clean otherwise you could scratch your windshield & paint.
Here's what we recommend for cleaning windshields on our website/ http://www.pacificeagleutv.com/cleaninglexan.htm.

Yep, that's one of the down sides to a windshield. Glass is so darn heavy and requires it to be safety glass which is even heavier. I have a small 1/2 windshield that I leave on all year round, don' care if it scratches but the upper half (3/4 actually) is only used in cold winter months, here the cold wind is nasty at 35mph. Hardly any dust or stone throws in the cold months. You will also find your seat/cab area can get quite hot during the summer with a full windshield so consider removing the upper during the summer so as to not have to worry about scratching.  That's what I do.........
