New Summer Riding Vistas
« on: July 02, 2016, 05:33:05 PM »
Just when I thought the doldrums of hot summer riding began to settle in, a neat little twist, a new summer riding vista emerges. My 12 year old nephew arrives for the whole summer from Utah. And of course he wants to go riding which we plan to do as soon as we get past our family reunion coming up next week at our place. So for the next week it's washing windows, cleaning up and yard work. As soon as we get out for ice cream runs I'll snap a few pics. Anything new for y'all this summer, riding wise?

I'm wanting to make a trek to the coast via the backroads where I can cruise along at moderate speeds and little traffic. I have several routes mapped out. The most scenic will be through the redwood forests of La Honda by way of Saratoga and highway 35. I also would like a trek to the Napa Valley, but that will be a bit of a challenge to find away around heavily traveled highways.

Again..germain to nothing....but half the sky looks like it is on fire right now as i read your post...as the sun comes over my part of the midwest.
Only lasts for bare minutes. ...but amazing time to ride your scooter.
Get up...shower...take the pup out for her wee...gear up....and climb on your Kymco for a ride on deserted streets. Stay in tire tracks....in case there is a 'sleeping' Raccoon or Skunk ahead.
Ride

Loved my time California dreaming back in 68 living in Huntington Beach, riding the coast Hwy. on my 66 Yamaha Catalina 250 parallel twin two stroke road bike. Got to get back a few years ago when Deb and I rode from San Diego up to Huntington Beach on our Burgman 400. Enjoy your coastal adventure.

Tom, you've got me thinking that early morning riding is perhaps one of those best kept secrets. But you spilled the beans and now little ole scooterist's like me may be out running the boulevard's at first light witnessing the miracle of a new day born.

I’m looking forward to a ride through the Delaware Water gap along North West New Jersey and NE Pennsylvania. One doesn’t think of Jersey as having hills and mountains, but that section of the state is pretty amazing. Hope to shoot some GoPro footage too.
