Throttle grip sticking
« on: June 10, 2010, 01:44:32 PM »
Hi guys, this has happened at the worse possible time for me and i'm looking for a quick fix if possible.
Today I went out had low fuel so went and filled the kymco up, after I came back from paying and drove away I noticed that my throttle was sticking where ever I left it and if I wanted to close it I had to manually roll it back to the off position. I had a look at the link at the carb and that springs back perfectly.

Anyone had similar problems or know what I could check or how to fix it?

Thanks.

Has it fallen over recently. The throttle cap may be touching the handlebar end, also check the flange on the grip might be rubbing on the plastic.Loosen the nuts on the throttle assembly pull out a litte bit.If that don't work remove clean and lube might just be dirty.Good luck
Kymco peoples too many ;) I'm not an expert just a full time hobbiest.

Hasn't fallen over, Will give the things you suggested a go, thanks. Do you know if there is anything especially difficult about dis assembling it all?

Haha, I have to admit, riding it home was quite cool and strange at the same time.

sounds like you just need to get new hand grip sometimes they wear down easy fix two screws
while its off you might as well oil up the cable.
