Bb gun talk
« on: September 23, 2016, 12:23:48 PM »
Hey all.

I just got  a sig Sauer sp2022 Bb pistol for next to nothing.

I soon found out why.

Luckily the co cartridge seal is tight.

It was recently resprayed to make it look better.
Already the paint is coming off.

Anyways the Allen key appeared to be slipping, but on close examination it can be seen that the metal part was slipping in the plastic where the thread is.
Super glue sorted that.

Then since it is non blowback, the metal slider was moving quite a bit.
Fault found to be ejector cover, which is plastic. It was so out of shape.
I dismantled the gun and rebuilt it, as in tidied it up, and respraying it.

Parts are impossible to get hold of here, so I built up the slider with powder and superglue (the thing is only for looks, so no worries.)

While it was open I Serviced it, a little oil (silicone)  and lastly, I had to fix the safety switch.
It was partly snapped off.
I made a part to join the original part(it took 2 attempts and now the safety feature is back!

Gas is zar10 (0,60 us c)

It is quite loud, but was fun.

The paper I used for target practice is in the pics.

I am sure you guys are laughing under your sleeve, with armories in nearly every home... Lol.

You can do this kinda stuff, you should be an ace on carbs and throttle bodies! Please explain the differences in the gases you used. Use small words, please. Imagine explaining to a four-year old!

Karl, I don't have a lathe. So.it is just pliers, and file, and superglue, very rough and ready, but  I do strive to ensure that the work is not visible.

The gas is CO. Carbon Monoxide.
Don't breath it.......

Little capsules fit into the handle, which also houses the Bb balls, 23 off. It is a very neat arrangement.

You have spurred me to tidy up the cartridge(capsule) securing screw, with the powder and superglue, and then filing like crazy.

I think mine is an old model, because the springs might be tired.
I was 4m from the wall where the target mounted, and the bb's bounced back and I felt it on  my leg.
That is  8m and its energy was spent.
I think I am not taking the loss of energy when it hit the wall into consideration.

I did hit the far wall at the back of the house, and that is  15m.

Luckily this thing won't kill anyone.

I think it might be more fun killing cans....

It is a replica of the sig Sauer sp2022 , and the word is it is a very good copy.
Also reviewers on the whole indicate it is quite accurate for a Bb gun on the low end of the budget scale.

I am far happier with a toy then the real thing.
Of course hoping the day never arrives where I might really  need one.
You know, bad things happen to everyone else, right?.. 😊

Hopefully you won't need it for a desperate situation either.

I just have it for home defense.

Have you considered landmines?
