Small incident but great day for a ride
« on: November 19, 2016, 01:09:07 AM »
70 degrees on Nov18th in Ohio!!
I could hear the HD's all over Ohio today.
(The one's that really impress me are the big, quiet bikes.)

Wearing my summer mesh jacket, and no battery heated gloves!
3rd beautiful riding day in a row. Marred only slightly by soccer mom van turning into me in a well heeled neighborhood. I stopped (was watching her for 1/2 a block. Ready.) just shy of her intended path. She stopped then and seemed apologetic. Would have ruined both of our days.
Bet you a $ she looked right before turning left onto my street....and just did not see me signaling to turn L into her street. (wearing hi viz yellow jacket and helmet, turn signal on, twin headlights on, full noon sun)

I never turn across the front of a waiting car without using full caution. Paid off again today. I bet she is a careful driver - but since I was not a car or truck she looked right through me.

Cold & rain arrives tomorrow.

I REALLY LIKE that air temp gauge on the Berg panel! There is some unused space on the DT panel that would, could be used....should I....?

The threat you described is so very real in both metro and rural areas. Way to go at keeping your head on a swivel and projecting the "what if...."
